“Puzzling Production: Gamifying Unscripted Prep” will Immerse you in the pre-production process. You won’t be bored learning every tedious document that could pass a production team’s desk. You’ll gain a broad overview of the Production department with a mix of puzzling challenges. This will be a hands-on, collaborative experience to try out a career in the Production department.

A NOTE from "T" 

I’m Maria Teresa Garcia, though most call me “T”. With 15+ years in Unscripted TV, I’ve worked across a diverse range of shows, from food series to international outdoor adventures, with occasional respites in studio game shows. My credits include shows on traditional networks like ABC, CBS, and FOX, as well as newer streaming platforms. Known for keeping calm under pressure with a touch of dry humor, I’ve had many memorable experiences. A couple examples include re-evaluating our safety plan for landing on an Alaskan glacier after my plane tipped over bringing crew lunch and driving a box truck through the busy nightlife of Bourbon Street while gratefully waving to tipsy bystanders. Luckily, not all of my unique experiences involve transportation. As part of the production team, my responsibilities include hiring and managing talented crews, securing locations, balancing accounting, and handling various logistical tasks that cover all aspects of the show. These logistics can be complex, detailed and sometimes overwhelming. Let’s face it, most people’s eyes glaze over when I start talking about the paperwork and job duties. If a clean organized grid doesn’t excite you, you probably won’t care about different font styles on the call sheet. That’s why this workshop includes fun twists and turns while understanding the pre-production process.
